Going Vegetarian This Week

Ok, so I think I was freaking out last week for no reason. The editor got back to me and worked on a couple of blog entries. Those are the toughest for me. This was a "light" week. I splurged on a few things after having gotten partial payment. I bought both of them at Best Buy.

1. a sync cable to charge my iPad/iPhone.
(My old one was pretty ratty. The electrical wires were sticking out.) I saw some vendors were selling similar looking ones in Chinatown but opted for genuine goods at Best-Buy. I've read horror stories of people being electrocuted in their sleep due to counterfeit iPhone charger.  Seriously not worth saving a few bucks.
2. Apple EarPods. I was officially tired of the old earbuds that came with the original device. I think one side of the earplugs stopped working and the new ones are so nice. It comes with a remote/mic.

I think some of my next purchases will have to include some sneakers. Let's just say, I need to refresh my wardrobe..For the most part, I've been focused on paying off my credit card bills. Feels good to be making more than just the minimum payment.

And, job-wise, yesterday received an email from a temp agency that had my info on file even though I never heard from them 'til now. Seems that there is a position to gather signatures for a New York State governor for candidacy. Pay is $11. Hmmmm....

Oh, and I am going vegetarian this week. Started to think about the bigger picture. What if I'd never saw that ad on Craigslist that led to this side gig that is allowing me to pay off my bills? Not sure what other alternatives I would have had to pay off my bills, especially with just $13 left in my bank account. Sure, I could liquidate my 401k, but realistically that wasn't an option....And sure, I could pawn off my diamond ring/earrings but they have sentimental value than they're worth.

I weighed myself yesterday. I'm at 125 pounds, which means I've lost like 5 pounds. When you're broke, every penny counts. I think I could lose like another 5 or 10 pounds.
