What a busy month...

It's been an interesting month. I'm no longer with the start-up.  The founder has said that the original idea is no longer feasible and I had my suspicions before that. But I've learned a lot.

I had also signed up for a hackathon but I chickened out at the end because I wasn't really "prepared" in terms in acquiring the necessary tech skills...But I was still able to reap the benefits for attendees: a free 3-month membership towards accessing videos and on-demand videos on General Assembly's website. They're a school geared towards cultivating tech + business. That's like $150 value...And from signing up with the hackathon, I learned about ChallengePost. It's where you can sign up to explore software projects and participate in hackathons and online challenges. That's a way for others to know about you which I've found is important when teams are formed in hackathons...Sorta like a Linkedin profile in tech circles....

Oh and I've been practicing programming as often as I can. Right now, I'm using CodeAcademy's beginner's course on Python. I want to get back to learning and programming Javascript...And I've also found this other cool website The Odin Project.

This is what caught my eye:

On their website, users can learn web development, Ruby programming, Ruby on Rails, HTML5 + CSS, Javascript + Jquery + lastly, getting hired as a web developer...It all sounds amazing..I've got a beginner's foundation on HTML,CSS, JQuery but I need to practice and acquire more skills....

Oooh, and a few days ago, I found out I won the challenge on Mindsumo for my submission on "What innovations will change industries in 2015?" Here's the link to my solution. I didn't really think I would get anything more than honorable mention like last time....Getting paid to think, it's empowering.

And I do believe, I'm trending on Mindsumo!

And I've recently just started watching Game of Thrones. It's a terrific if somewhat bloody, gory and totally captivating look at the struggles political dynasties attempt to hold on to power.
