Birthdays, same thing. Until I get a steady stream of revenue, I'm just purchasing things with my credit card. Which leads me to updates on the job front. Yesterday, I found this organization that helps recent college grads with non-technical positions (read: admin assistant) at start-ups called Lynxsy. It sounds like something right up my alley: I'm taking coding classes online already. The only hurdle: applicants would have to go through the vetting process and be interviewed on a Google Hangout scenario. This reminds me of that time that I went through this same process with another company (GradStaff) whose positions weren't in tune with what I wanted at all. At least, I practiced some of my interviewing skills. It might come in handy for next time.
Not sure where this coding thing is going to lead, but it can only be a good thing.
Ultimately, I've set my New Year's resolution to see how far I can go this year, basically the sky's the limit. I try to set at least an hour every day to further my coding skills. Last year, I tried learning HTML/CSS with codeacademy.com, which isn't bad. I wanted to practice on my own and now I've figured out a way to do it. Also, I've signed up on www.freecodecamp.com which sets up challenges based on the honor system and liases with General Assembly Dash where free lessons for coding are available. The cool thing with GA Dash is that if you need help with certain exercises, you'll have to reach out on Facebook. There's also a cool preview window in HTML that lets you see how your work looks in real time.

Today, on the subway ride to Manhattan, I was thinking that I should create a website containing information on Elizabeth Warren and Hilary Clinton 2016 presidential nomination. Not sure what to include in it, but definitely something to demonstrate my website skills and political interest. Kind of like "if you build it, they will come."
